In the Entertainment Industry, Staying Adaptable to Changes is Important: Charul Malik

Mumbai, August 11, 2024 (UTN). Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai! actress  Charul Malik believes every actor should be adaptable. She mentioned that she is grateful for her background as a news anchor, which has helped her become more prepared. “In the entertainment industry, staying adaptable to changes is important. Coming from a background where 99.9% of actors don't come from, I feel more prepared because I have experience with live broadcasting, handling emotions, delivering the best performance, and maintaining punctuality,” she said.   “Even when faced with setbacks, I never let them show on my face because I learned to stay composed from my news background. I was already well-prepared and had learned a lot before entering the industry,” she added. She stressed, however, that in this field, what matters most is skill and talent. “Success often depends on how talented you are and the connections you have, like having a godfather or being related to someone in the industry. Many people work hard on their own, but it’s true that having connections can make a difference,” she said.   “After three years of acting, I’ve gained a lot of clarity. I believe I am well-prepared compared to many other actors. The key is that those who get opportunities are prepared for them, while others are working on being ready for future chances,” she added. Being a public figure means one is constantly judged and observed, but Charul feels there is no need to feel pressure about it. “It’s our choice to be in this field. If you stay true to yourself, you won’t feel pressure. If you manipulate, pretend, or are fake, then you’ll feel the pressure.   I believe that if you’re flowing naturally, you won’t feel pressure. Today, I don’t feel any pressure because I am natural and genuine. I don’t pretend or judge others. I speak honestly and never talk behind people’s backs,” she said. “I am open and appreciative, whether it’s on social media, wishing someone well, or attending a party. I express my feelings openly and don’t understand how one could hold back. Smart and responsible people judge others, but those who have their own flaws and haven’t achieved much are the ones judging others. If you’re natural, you’ll have zero pressure,” Charul concluded.   Mumbai-Reporter, (Hitesh Jain).

It’s about being versatile to the dynamics around us

Mumbai, August 11, 2024 (UTN). Singer Alok Singh, who is enjoying the success of his latest song, Rang Ishq Da, feels there are different sides of us that we present with different sets of people. He said, “Mumbai-Reporter, (Hitesh Jain)., showing different aspects of ourselves depending on who we're with. It's not about being fake, but about being versatile and responsive to the dynamics around us. In fact, he pointed out that there is a side of us that we let out when there is no one watching us. He said, “There's a private side of me that comes out when I'm alone, where I can be completely vulnerable or creatively free without any external expectations or judgments.”      Alok calls himself a passionate, soulful, expressive, introspective, and evolving person, however, he stressed that it’s not easy to describe what kind of person he is.   “Understanding oneself is an ongoing journey, full of surprises and self-discoveries. It takes time to peel back the layers and truly grasp who I am beneath the surface,” he said.   Alok also pointed out that, as humans, we all seek validation, and it is very natural.   “It can affirm our efforts and boost our confidence. But relying too much on external validation can be limiting. I've learned to balance it by trusting my own instincts and inner compass, which gives me a deeper sense of fulfillment and authenticity,” he said.      He also stressed that growth happens outside of comfort zones, adding, “Staying comfortable might feel safe, but it doesn't push us to evolve or achieve new heights. It's important to challenge ourselves and embrace discomfort as a catalyst for personal and professional growth.”   Sharing a personal experience where moving out of his comfort zone helped him, he said, “Moving out of my comfort zone, especially in my music career, has been transformative. There was a time when I hesitated to experiment with new sounds and styles, fearing how they might be received. But when I took the leap and explored unfamiliar territories, I discovered new creative depths and connected with audiences in ways I hadn't imagined. It taught me resilience, expanded my artistic horizons, and ultimately helped me evolve both as a person and as an artist.”   Mumbai-Reporter, (Hitesh Jain).

Friends Understand the Demands of My Career,” Sandeep Sachdev on Navigating a Busy Schedule

Mumbai, 08 August 2024 (UTN). As we celebrate Friendship Day, it’s a perfect moment to delve into how friendships shape and influence the lives of individuals, including those in the spotlight. Sandeep Sachdev, who is currently captivating audiences with his role as Kamalnath in the popular show Pyaar Ka Pehla Adhyaya Shiv Shakti produced by Prateek Sharma and Parth Shah (Studio LSD), provides a fascinating perspective on the role of friendship both on and off the screen. For Sandeep Sachdev, friendship is incredibly important. He truly values connecting with people and holds his friendships in high regard. Whether he's on set or in his personal life, Sachdev is always there for his friends. "I'm just a phone call away if anyone needs to talk, whether it's something troubling them or just a light-hearted chat. Friendship is very important to me."   When it comes to identifying his best friend, Sachdev finds it challenging to pinpoint just one individual from the various groups he’s been part of over the years.  He acknowledges his mother as his closest confidante. "I would say that my mom is my best friend. I don't hesitate to talk to her about everything."  When it comes to the qualities he values most in his friends, Sachdev emphasizes, "The qualities that I really value the most in my friends and best friends are who is there for you when you need them, and secondly, there is no judgment. Why he called, why is he asking me this, whether you do not meet them for months and whenever you meet you just feel like you have met him just yesterday. I think the quality of love which you get from best friends is of course amazing." The fast-paced and competitive world of television often makes maintaining friendships challenging.    Despite his busy schedule, Sachdev ensures that he makes time for important occasions like birthdays and anniversaries. "Friends really do understand if you can't always make it to every event, but no matter what, if it's a significant moment for a friend, I am always there," he notes. Sachdev’s experience on the set of Pyaar Ka Pehla Adhyaya Shiv Shakti has been marked by the development of close bonds with his co-stars. "Oh, yes, I have a lot of close friends on the set of the show. From my son Kirtan to my on-screen sister Padma, to my on-screen mother Minakshi ji and my brother, Reva, who plays Rimjim, Aditi, and Nandu is played by Vrushab. We all share a great bond. Arjun, Nikki, and Parineeta have always been there, and I love shooting with them." He believes that strong friendships on set translate well on screen, making the work environment more enjoyable and productive.    "If you develop close friendships on set, it really translates well on the screen because the energy and chemistry come across naturally." He finds that the friendships depicted in his role as Kamalnath mirror the authenticity and warmth of his real-life relationships. He believes that both his on-screen and off-screen friendships are marked by transparency and genuine connection. Sandeep credits his friends for significantly contributing to his personal and professional growth. Friends offer invaluable advice and perspectives that help him navigate life's decisions. " It’s always good to get advice from friends, especially when there's a lot of confusion in decision-making. Sometimes, you might not even know the right decision until you hear it from someone you trust. Hearing different perspectives can make you feel more confident and provide you with clearer information. Friendship has greatly contributed to my journey by offering genuine advice without any filters. Friends are honest and straightforward, telling you the truth whether it's good or bad," he ends.   Mumbai-Reporter,(Hitesh Jain).

Friendships are extremely important to me: Sukhada Khandkekar

Mumbai, 08 August 2024 (UTN). Sukhada Khandkekar, who is seen as Saraswati in Prateek Sharma and Parth Shah’s Pukaar: Dil Se Dil Tak, which is produced under their banner, LSD Studios, says her friends are sometimes more important than her relatives. For her, it’s crucial that her vibe matches with the other person and she takes those relationships very seriously. Speaking on the occasion of International Friendship Day, which will be observed on August 4, she said, “Friendships are extremely important to me, and I’d even say that sometimes they can be more important than my relatives. I believe that friends are those relatives, whom we choose & eventually nurture into relationships. This connection is something that goes beyond age, gender, caste, religion, or profession.”   “ I take relationships very seriously. I clearly distinguish between a co-actor, colleague, friend, best friend, and family. When I say someone is my friend or family, I truly mean it. I take my time to understand the role each person plays in my life and build the relationship accordingly,” she added. On-screen and off-screen, friendships are very important to her. Professionally, when she decides to join a project, she gets deeply involved with her character. “I research and watch world cinema, television, and regional works in various languages—Hindi, English, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu—anything that helps me resonate with my character. However, amidst all this, building relationships on a television set can be challenging due to the busy schedule. And the process of building my character inch by inch, is beautifully consuming.    But, when I do get a chance to connect with people on set, organically, I consider myself very fortunate,” she said. “I make sure to nourish these friendships and protect them, even after the project ends. I see these relationships as precious. As they've come to me organically. When it comes to on-set friendships, I view them through a professional lens. It's important to have great coordination with co-actors, DOPs, the team, and the director. Being blessed with fantastic people around you on-set is invaluable. And team Pukar is one such best example.” she added. Sukhada mentioned that she is a very private person, and mostly, her best friends are her childhood friends. People she has known for 25 years, 32 years, friends from school and beyond. “As life progressed, our friendships evolved, but we’ve managed to stay close.   Since moving to Mumbai, I’ve been here for eleven years, and during that time too, I’ve had some very important friendships. I proudly say that my husband is my best friend. I don’t know when my husband, Abhijeet, realized he was in love with me, but he directly asked me to marry him. I agreed to this relationship because he was already my best friend ,” she said. “Falling in love with him happened quickly, and I’m still in love with him. They it changes as time passes, well not with us (touchwood) Even eleven years into our marriage, he still remains my best friend who unconditionally loves me for who i am, infact has brought the best out of me. He’s the first person I want to share everything with, even if I’ve made mistakes.l, I feel he should glbe the first one to know about it. He’s my favorite travel partner, and I’m always excited to spend time with him.   When I get a day off, I come home excited to relax with him and watch something together. So, if you ask me who my best friend is, it’s my husband, Abhijeet. Of course, I have many other friends whom I value deeply, and they have all shaped who I am,” she added. Asked about the qualities she values most in her best friend, she stressed that they are deeply rooted in her experiences over the years. “Friends who have been with me since childhood have shown me how lives can evolve, and their presence remains invaluable. They stand out because even though our lives have changed and we all have experienced ups n downs in our respective carriers. Our bonds remained unaffected, pure. I believe honesty is very important. True friends are those who always keep you grounded, even when you stray off track.   They are the ones who bring out the best in you,” she said. “Secondly, being non-judgmental is important. Friends qre the ones who accept and support, regardless of the circumstances. They listen to you without judgment and offer unconditional support. I have a set of friends who embody these qualities and ibsee them as my pillars,” she added. Speaking of her friendship on the set of the show, she said she would rather describe it as chemistry as the shooting has begun just a few months ago “I have a great time shooting with Sumukhi Pendse (Rajeshwari), even though our characters are very different. We enjoy working together. Abhishek Nigam (Sagar) and I also share a great chemistry.   Whether we're doing emotional scenes or light-hearted ones, the atmosphere becomes enjoyable,” she said. “With Sayli Salunke (Vedika), and Anushka Merchande (Koel), the chemistry is diffferent. More layered. Even though our characters might not always align, we align beautifully with each other. We have fun together. We laugh and joke around, especially before scenes or during readings. But when we start working, it’s a different dynamic.” she added. How has friendship contributed to your personal and professional growth? “I believe I am who I am because of my friends. They help me recognize my strengths and areas where I can improve. They give me honest feedbacks, bring out the best in me and I trust their advice without question. I know I need to make those changes and grow. I owe a lot to my friends. They are like a blessing, and I value them immensely." Sukhada ended.   Mumbai-Reporter,(Hitesh Jain).

Actress Alpana Buch shares her thoughts on Friendship Day

Mumbai, 08 August 2024 (UTN). Popular actress Alpana Buch, better known as Baa from Anupamaa, produced by Deepa Shahi and Rajan Shahi, speaks about her friends on the occasion of Friendship Day. She says, "Friendship is the hardest thing in the world to explain. It's not something you learn in school. But if you haven't learned the meaning of friendship, you really haven't learned anything. I am fortunate enough to have learned in my childhood what friendship really means. Alpana, as an individual, is blessed to have so many 'real friends' who walk in when the rest of the world walks out. And on the other side, Leela (in the show Anupamaa) as a character also has many friends.   There are millions of people who love Leela Baa so much that they have accepted her as their best friend. They support Leela Baa and get angry at their friend Leela Baa when she is wrong. Leela Baa’s fans across the world are her best friends.”Talking about her best friend in real life, Alpana says, "My best friend is the one who brings out the best in me. A good friend is a connection to life—a tie to the past, a road to the future, the key to sanity in a totally insane world. I am lucky and blessed to have a long list of such true friends.” She also adds, "'Dost banaaye nahi jaate, ban jate hai'... it's all about wavelength. According to me, friendship is the perfect synchronization of two similar energies.   That's the reason I have all my real friends, exactly as I wanted them to be—transparent, open, and honest.” Alpana also shares how she maintains her friendships despite her busy schedule. She says, "In the modern world of communication, I think it's not difficult to be in touch with your friends. Sometimes, due to a non-stop shooting schedule, it’s difficult for me to be in touch with them, but I also believe that if it's a real friendship, then it doesn't need maintenance. It's about being in each other's thoughts forever.”Alpana, who is a popular face in the industry as well as on the sets of Anupamaa, says, "Everyone on the sets of Anupamaa is my friend.   We spend most of our time together on set, so I am surrounded by like-minded friends who are always there when I need their support. They are always there to cherish my happiness and share my sorrow. A good friend is like a four-leaf clover; hard to find and lucky to have. Rupali Ganguly, who is my best friend off-camera, playing my enemy on-screen, always helps me enhance my performance. The fun is that with whom Leela Baa fought during the scene shares her food as Alpana during the lunch hour.” In the end, Alpana shares how good friends are important in her life. She adds, "Good friends help you find important things like your smile, your hope, and your courage when you have lost them. I can only say that I have true friends all around me because I never lost my smile, my hope, and my courage.”   Mumbai-Reporter,(Hitesh Jain).

There's no fear of being typecast; the fun lies in the diverse experiences

Mumbai, 08 August 2024 (UTN). Actress Ekta Tiwari, known for shows like ‘Tere Mere Sapne’ and ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’, is back with Gudiya Rani on Dangal TV. Sharing more about her show and her character, called ‘Flower,’ Ekta says, “We've already started shooting and just completed the promo shoot in Mumbai. I have received feedback that the promo looks promising. We're filming in various locations like Film City, Malwani, Madh, and Naigaon, and enjoying it thoroughly because the team, including the production, creative, direction teams, and co-actors, is very supportive and fun-loving. It feels like a family. I have received a lot of messages and people are eagerly waiting for the show.”    Ekta is playing the role of an antagonist in the show and shares how different this role is from the rest of the characters she has played. “Playing positive or negative characters on any platform or project is a responsibility, and I feel an actor can easily switch between them. However, playing a lead protagonist comes with limitations. Such characters are always portrayed as responsible, ethical, and thoughtful. I feel from a writer's, director's, and actor's point of view, there are many limitations to a positive character. On the other hand, negative characters, even if they are not violent, allow an actor to explore unique and bizarre traits, which can be creatively satisfying. These characters provide an artist with opportunities to explore new things and look beautiful on screen.   For the first time, I am playing a negative character in Gudiya Rani. It’s a colorful character. It's not just about enjoying playing negative roles over positive ones; it’s more about how each role has its own challenges and attractions. Negative characters often require intense and sharp performances. I would like to give an example of our legendary actors like Om Puri and Paresh Rawal, who have brilliantly blended comedy with negative traits. I have always loved their craft.”  But isn’t Ekta scared of being typecast? On this, Ekta says, “There's no fear of being typecast; the fun lies in the diverse experiences. Yes, there is a practice in our industry of typecasting all the artists, which should be broken.   No matter how many negative characters I play, I don't think I would be typecast. There is an emotional journey of my character which results in her actions and reactions in the show.” Ekta also adds, “The writer, Bhavna Vyas of Gudiya Rani, is well-known in the TV industry, and her narration and screenplay are fantastic. The way she wrote the dialogues is one key difference. Our director, Sooraj Rao, has a unique vision and way of choreographing scenes, which also adds to the show's uniqueness. Another significant difference is the chemistry among the characters, especially between the kids in the show. This adds a special flavor. The background and cultural setting, being MP-based and Shukla family-oriented, bring a rich portrayal of the local customs and traditions.   Although the general TV industry often feels repetitive, with similar types of stories, the freshness in presentation and the effort of the team make this project special. Every medium—TV, cinema, OTT, etc.—has its unique audience, and while there are similarities in content, it's the presentation that often sets it apart. In our industry, projects go through ups and downs, and retaining or losing charm is part of the cycle. But the effort to present something new and the team's positive energy are evident in this show.”  Ekta has been working in the industry for the last 15 years. She also shares that she started her career as a child artist. She says, “My acting journey began much earlier, from childhood, involving different roles and experiences, including a stint in dramatics and acting training. I even attended the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) but didn't complete the course, so my journey has been varied and ongoing since then. In terms of preparing for roles, the process is pretty straightforward.   Initially, you understand the script, the writer's content, and the specific characteristics of the role. This involves listening to verbal narrations from the writer or director to fully understand the character's nuances. After that, you do your own research and incorporate your understanding in a way that aligns with the writer's vision and the director's expectations, ensuring a balanced portrayal.” Ekta, who has seen many ups and downs in her career, believes in one mantra: be yourself. She says, “A mantra for my entire life and career is simple: be yourself. Don't be fake; if you want to win hearts genuinely, then in personal life and while playing a character, stay true to yourself. If you remain genuine and avoid fakeness, everything will connect with the audience on a deeper level. Always be yourself and learn; continuously learn from every moment, situation, and person. I believe learning is a never-ending process, so always seek knowledge and remain genuine, whether in personal or professional life.”   Mumbai-Reporter,(Hitesh Jain).

I have fewer friends, but they are the kind who can understand how I feel just by looking at my face

Mumbai, 08 August 2024 (UTN). Poet and actress Gunjan Saini shares her thoughts on Friendship Day. She is also going to post a short video on social media dedicated to all her friends. Sharing more on her video, she says, "In the video, I have mentioned that there are some friends who understand us without an explanation, and all my friendships are like that. I have fewer friends, but they are the kind who can understand how I feel just by looking at my face. This ability to understand each other without words is a very important part of friendship. It’s something I deeply value because it shows a level of connection and empathy that goes beyond mere words.”    She also adds, "My best friend’s name is Kanchan Khilare. We met through theatre in 2018-19, and gradually, we started talking about many things and just got closer everyday. Over the time, our bond grew stronger, and now we are best friends. She has added a very special value to my life, becoming like a sister to me. As an only child, this has been incredibly meaningful. Having Kanchan in my life makes me feel like I have a sibling, someone who understands and supports me unconditionally. Her family also treats me like a part of their family, which strengthens our bond even further.” Gunjan also shares, "In today’s fast-paced world, it is very difficult to maintain friendships.   Life gets busy, and we all have our responsibilities and commitments. However, true friends understand this. They don’t demand constant attention but are always there when needed. This understanding is crucial as we navigate adulthood. Despite our busy schedules, we know that we can count on each other. If one of us is busy today, we can talk tomorrow, and there are no hard feelings. This level of understanding and flexibility is an important part of friendship.” Gunjan believes in quality over quantity as she adds,”It's about having a few close friends who truly understand and support me, rather than having many. This deep connection with Kanchan and my other close friends enriches my life and provides a strong support system that I cherish.”   Mumbai-Reporter,(Hitesh Jain).

Shivangi Verma: I consider myself a low-maintenance friend

Mumbai, 08 August 2024 (UTN). This Friendship’s Day, actress Shivangi Verma says that when it comes to her, she loves to adjust and enjoy with her friends. She adds that her friends are as precious to her as her family. “Friendship means a lot to me, like family does. Just as some people in a family are very special, friendships are equally significant for me. I consider myself a low-maintenance friend and have always said that I am quite anti-social with very few friends. The ones who are very special to me are different. While everyone wants to be friends with me, I don't easily become friends with everyone. The friends I do make are not just friends to me; they are like family. That's how I view friendship as family,” she says.   Talking about her best friend, she says, “My best friend is Puru Chibber, who I met on a show called Reporter on Sony TV, and it was one of the most memorable moments of my life. The experience was so unforgettable that we still laugh about it with new people we meet. The incident happened because Puru and I are both from Delhi, where it's common to use a lot of slang in conversations. Unfortunately, Puru spoke to me in this way unintentionally, and it upset me so much that I went back to my van and even considered filing a complaint. I even told my Delhi friends that we should get together and come to Bombay to teach him a lesson! Despite all that, we eventually became very close friends. Today, out of all the shows and experiences I've had, Puru is like family to me and extremely special. Our friendship started with a clash, but it grew into a strong bond.”   Doling out tips for maintaining good friendship, she says, “When it comes to successful friendships or any relationship, loyalty is extremely important. You shouldn’t lie, and your friend shouldn’t lie either. If there’s dishonesty, then that friendship doesn’t mean much to me. Fake friendships that are just for personal gain aren’t true friendships. After joining this industry, I’ve met people who call themselves friends but act differently behind your back. I don’t understand why people behave this way. I believe that a genuine friendship involves being loyal and honest. If you value these qualities, your friendships will last longer and be more fulfilling and the tip is I think Flexibility Sometimes you need to listen to your friend, and other times they need to listen to you. Flexibility helps strengthen the bond and respect. It's important for a lasting and meaningful friendship.”   Mumbai-Reporter,(Hitesh Jain).

Saarvie Omana Reflects on the Significance of Friendship Both On and Off-Screen

Mumbai, 08 August 2024 (UTN). Saarvie Omana, known for her portrayal of Meera in the popular television series Pyar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan, produced by Prateek Sharma and Parth Shah’s Studio LSD, opens up about the crucial role of friendship in her life, celebrating Friendship Day with heartfelt insights. Saarvie emphasizes the vital importance of friendship, both in her personal life and professional realm. As an introvert with a tight-knit circle of friends, she values the ability to share everything without hesitation. "Everybody needs someone with whom they can talk about anything without thinking twice. For me, friendship is really important. As I’m an introvert and have a very small friend circle, I can say I have a beautiful and pure one. Friendship is the key to every relationship," she says.    When asked about her best friend, Saarvie finds it hard to single out one person, considering all her close friends equally important. "They understand me and never judge me for anything, no matter what. Whether I’m emotional, sad, angry, or cranky sometimes, they are just there for me every time and listen to me patiently. Without them, I’m incomplete," she shares. Navigating the busy and competitive world of television, Saarvie's friends remain understanding and supportive. "They understand my schedule and never get angry with me if I’m not able to talk to them or if I forget to wish them on their special days. They respect my work and schedule," she explains. While Saarvie has formed close bonds in her previous show Rabb Se Hai Dua, her current experience in Pyar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan is different. "From my last show, yes, I do have a few close friends.    But in my current show, I haven’t found that vibe from anyone yet. Till now, it’s only a co-actor relationship on the set," she admits, adding that her introverted nature and belief in vibes sometimes lead to misinterpretations of her demeanor. Saarvie sees similarities between her real-life friendships and those of her character, Meera. "Yes, I’m like Meera. A helping hand will always be there from my side. No matter the time and place, if my friends need me, I make sure that I’ll be there for them," she affirms. Reflecting on how friendships have shaped her, Saarvie acknowledges their impact on her personal growth. "Friends have helped and contributed to my personal life, and they still do. But in professional life, there is no contribution from them, as I don’t see them as stepping stones. For me, profession and friendship are different. I can’t make friends for my profession’s benefit," she concludes.   Mumbai-Reporter,(Hitesh Jain).
