It’s also a space where I set boundaries: Aradhana Sharma on social media

Mumbai, 20 July 2024 (UTN). Aradhana Sharma, who is currently seen in Suhagan Chudail, says though she is happy to use social media for connecting with her fans, and sharing her life as an actor, she has also set a boundary. She likes to be genuine and authentic. She said, “Social media is where I connect with my fans, share my journey, and celebrate the magic of storytelling. But it’s also a space where I set boundaries. I love engaging with my audience, but I believe in authenticity and respect. Crossing limits for the sake of views? That’s a no-go for me. My content reflects my true self, and I draw the line at anything that compromises my values or the respect I have for my followers. It’s all about balance—enjoying the spotlight while staying grounded.”   She calls the platform a game-changer for her and says, “It’s given me a voice beyond the screen, allowing me to connect with fans and showcase facets of my life and personality that might not always come through in my roles.” Personally, it’s been a space for me to share my passions, like dance and fitness and other activities, and to support causes close to my heart. It’s also a source of inspiration – I’ve discovered so many talented creators and beautiful souls through this platform. The trick is to embrace the positive and not get bogged down by the negativity,” she added.   However, she agrees that it can be overwhelming to see others become too popular on social media too soon. But she added, “Then, I remind myself that everyone’s journey is unique. Popularity on social media is a mix of talent, timing, and sometimes a bit of luck. It’s credible to an extent, but it’s not the only measure of success or talent. What matters more to me is the connection I have with my audience and the impact I make through my work. It’s not just about numbers; it’s about meaningful engagement and staying true to who you are.”   Aradhana pointed out that social media algorithms can be so unpredictable, and it’s easy to get caught up in the numbers game. “There have been times when I’ve put my heart and soul into a reel, and it didn’t get the views I hoped for. It can be frustrating, but I’ve learned to focus on the creative process rather than just the outcome. The joy of creating and sharing something meaningful outweighs the temporary dip in views. Plus, genuine engagement from my followers always lifts my spirits, no matter what the algorithm says,” she said.   Mumbai-Reporter,( Hitesh Jain ).

Anoushka Chauhan on maintaining success: be flexible, versatile, connect with your audience and be true to your craft

Mumbai, 20 July 2024 (UTN). Actress Anoushka Chauhan, who is currently seen in Krishna Mohini, shares her insights on the challenges of sustaining success in the TV industry. She emphasizes the importance of staying true to your craft and nurturing the passion that fuels performance and attracts opportunities. Anoushka acknowledges that TV can provide instant fame, but maintaining relevance requires continuous effort. "It highly depends upon an individual how they maintain their relevance in the industry. You have to be flexible, versatile, and connect with the audience. One needs to have credibility and moldability to change with time and needs.Be true to your craft, enjoy it. never let the Fire, the passion for your craft go away and it will reflect in your performance and the things you attract.” she says.   Talking about the difficulty of maintaining success in the TV industry, she explains that it depends on various factors and cannot be achieved single-handedly. "There are a lot of factors involved in maintaining a show on any channel or platform, and it's tiring with really thin threads. Your show may go off-air any day, your character might have to exit, or your influence on the show can be reduced. The show may take a generational leap or undergo a script change. It's very unpredictable," she says.   Anoushka disagrees with the notion that TV follows a fixed pattern in terms of roles. "It is a very individual journey and you cannot put a label on anyone. I have seen a lot of actors who have played lead roles for decades, and I have seen people doing supporting roles and then directly moving to lead roles in some shows or even entering the South Indian film industry or Bollywood itself," she says.   Anoushka emphasizes the importance of talent and faith. "When you have talent and faith, when you decide what you want to do, you will always shine under any circumstances. I have learned so much from my co-actors. I have even heard stories of characters who did not have much screen time initially but were so loved by the audience that gradually the production and writing team had to increase their role," she says.   Talking about roles that have inspired her, she exclaims, "Oh God! There are so many! Tarun Khanna as Chanakya in Chandragupta Maurya, Supriya Pathak as Hansa Bana from Khichdi, Kratika Sengar as Manikarnika, Mona Singh as Jassi, Naseeruddin Shah as Ghalib, Jennifer Winget in Beyhadh, Farida Jalal in Shararat! I can't forget characters from Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, CID, or Sumit Sambhal Lega. All these characters are such epics. They left a major impact on me not just as an actor but also as a person. As a child growing up, these characters had a major impact on my personality."   When asked about her future plans, she says, "I don't want to do something that has already been done, but I definitely want to portray a historical or mythological character, or something in sci-fi or a crime thriller genre. I believe my personality would really fit such characters because I have a very strong physique and personality.   Mumbai-Reporter,( Hitesh Jain ).

Although, the epitome in elegance with class and substance for me has been Gayatri Devi,” she says.   She adds, “I like to see myself in varied styles like Nicobar, Fab India, sometimes as Massimo Dutti to Calvin Klein and Zara!   Talking about how she decides what to wear, she says, “I go with smart stylish choices, according to my age, body type and height. I don't think modern movies are lacking anywhere though.   She adds, “If you realise fashion and trends have a cycle, what goes by comes back and I love the take of aspiring designers, I often wear their pieces. Vanity has taken the front seat today: Vrushab Khadtale

Mumbai, 20 July 2024 (UTN). Vrushab Khadtale, who is seen as Nandu in Pyaar ka Pehla Adhyaya: Shiv Shakti, which is produced by Prateek Sharma and Parth Shah’s Studio LSD, believes that in today’s time, it is very important to look presentable at all times. He said, “For me, grooming is very important as I feel more confident. It's become a lifestyle now.”   He added, “In today’s time, where everyone uses social media first thing after waking up and probably last thing before bed, vanity has taken a front seat, which makes it important to look presentable all the time." Especially for actors, where people are curious to know their lifestyle. So, yes, it’s important, but I enjoy all of it, be it getting a fresh haircut, dressing up for an event, or wearing something cool to the gym, etc.”   He also stressed that it may sound wrong to judge someone by their look or outfit; it has become a human tendency to judge people by their first look and outfit. "Personally, I like to dress well. I might not wear couture outfits or luxurious brands every day, but when I leave my house, I like to wear something nice and stylish that makes me feel confident. Eat right, have good sleep, and go to the gym at least 4-5 days a week,” he said.   “I might like fashion and wearing good clothes and fancy brands, but for me, someone's vibe really matters more than anything, be it friends or a love interest. If I click with someone, I can easily chill with someone in my pajamas, with oiled hair, and have a ball of a time. For me, values are more expensive than a Vuitton,” he added.   So whom do you consider to have the most good-looking personality? “Sridevi Ji was one of the most beautiful personalities. Besides being supremely talented and hardworking, She really was gorgeous; she lit up the screen every time she was in front of the camera. Also, being a 90’s kid, I really admire Brad Pitt; I like how effortlessly stylish he is,” Vrushab ended.   Mumbai-Reporter,( Hitesh Jain ).

Shubhangi Atre: My biggest USPs are my simplicity, childlike nature, and cheerfulness

Mumbai, 15 July 2024 (UTN). Actress Shubhangi Atre says that when it comes to knowing herself, she is very confident in her skin. She describes herself as a simple person with a clear understanding of what she wants. I would say my biggest USPs are my simplicity, childlike nature, and cheerfulness. I'm very straightforward, always curious, and a very positive, optimistic, and genuine person. It's easy for me because I know myself very well. I don't get confused; I know who I am and I stay true to that. I'm the same person I was when I first entered the industry: simple, a bit naive, and quick to trust people.   I believe these are great qualities. My mother always told me, ‘Be strong, but don't deceive anyone.’ So, even if someone tries to fool me, I stay straightforward. It doesn't mean I let people take advantage of me all the time, but if someone wrongs me, it's their loss. I just keep walking my honest and clear path. And it's easy for me because I know myself very well,” she says.   She notes that she is guarded in some situations. “I am a private person. I definitely keep a filter on how much I share and where. Not everyone knows me well, and people might have their own perceptions, but I can't open up to everyone. I have a very close circle, and I can only be very free with them,” she says.   She adds, “My close friends know how crazy and fun-loving I am. From a distance, it might not be obvious. Many people tell me I'm like a mirror—if I'm angry, happy, sad, upset, or irritated, it shows on my face. I don't need to do anything alone to express these feelings. However, if I'm crying, I go into hibernation mode. When I cry, I completely isolate myself; that's my very private time, and I can't cry in front of others or show it off.”   Talking about seeking validation, she says, “I always ask my sisters, my mom, and my daughter Aashi for their opinions because they are my biggest critics. Their validation means a lot to me and has always had a positive impact on me. Besides that, I always follow my heart and never make decisions with just my head. I always listen to my heart.”   The actress adds that being in your comfort zone is important. “Our life is very long, so it's not necessary to always keep struggling and avoiding your comfort zone. Life comes in phases. Sometimes you really need to be in your comfort zone to gather your energy. At times, stepping out of your comfort zone can make you very tired and mentally drained. It's important to return to your comfort zone occasionally to recharge and rejuvenate. I think it depends on the phases of our life. Sometimes you should experiment and explore, and sometimes it's okay to stay in your comfort zone.”   She continues, “There have been many incidents in my life where I stepped out of my comfort zone. The biggest one was when I moved from Pune to Mumbai. My daughter Aashi was just 11 months old, and leaving her behind was really tough. I used to stay at home and take care of Aashi, but suddenly, I entered this industry, and overnight, everything changed. Of course, stepping out of your comfort zone helps. If you want to achieve something, you have to leave your comfort zone. You should work hard, be ambitious, optimistic, and positive. Consistency is key.   Mumbai-Reporter, (Hitesh Jain).

Self-validation is the biggest yes: Twinkle Arora

Mumbai, 15 July 2024 (UTN). Udaariyaan fame actor Twinkle Arora, who is currently seen in Khubsurrat, says though she indulged in seeking validation from others earlier, she has now learned the power of self-validation.   She said, “Seeking validation has been a big part of my learning process. I was a person who needed validation in many places, but over time I have learned and am still learning that self-validation is the biggest yes. One should not be affected if one does not get validation from others. It's easy to say this, but mastering it takes effort, which I'm also trying.”   She described herself as loving, positively naughty, ambitious, kind, and an overthinker. She added, “I'm someone who is fun-loving and just needs the right company.”   Twinkle believes that she represents a different side of herself with different people, and she is totally different when she is alone. She said, “When I'm in a professional environment, I have my own silent, calm, professional attitude. And when I am with my friends, I'm just a time bomb or a laughter box.”   “When no one is watching, we are just ourselves. There are a few things that one would never do in front of people but would do when alone. For example, I would never eat with a fork and knife at home while sitting alone, but I would definitely eat like that when I'm in a gathering,” she added.   She also spoke about comfort zone and said that it is important to step out of it for growth.   “There's a saying, ‘Growth comes when you step out of your comfort zone.’ I think we change our comfort zone over time. Once we step out of our comfort zone, the new zone we enter eventually becomes our comfort zone. So, we keep changing it. Sometimes it is necessary to stay in your comfort zone for protection, but stepping out of it is also very important for growth,” she said.   How has moving out of your comfort zone helped you? “Moving out of my comfort zone has helped me understand a lot of things as a human. When one tries to step out, all the fears of existence and survival pop up and try to hold you back. But for growth, you have to step out anyway. I have learned that once you step out of your comfort zone, you learn new things, set new boundaries, and eventually make the new zone your comfort zone. After a while, you will have to leave it again for better growth,” Twinkle ended.   Mumbai-Reporter, (Hitesh Jain).

I remain true to myself on social media: Pravina Deshpande

Mumbai, 15 July 2024 (UTN). Pravina Deshpande, who has done films like Ready, Jalebi, Ek Villain, Monsoon Out, Khamosh Adalat Jari Hai, Jalebi, Bose: Dead/Alive, Avrodh, and Rocket Boys, to name a few, believes social media has become a very important part of our lives today. She feels it’s a good platform to reach people and showcase our talent. But she likes to keep it private and stays true to her real self.      She said, “Social media plays a vital role these days. People have made big fortunes out of it. For actors, it’s a boon, for sure. I personally use digital media for my own growth as an actor and as a human being. I can see others' work, appreciate and learn what to do and what not to do, what’s trending, what’s coming up, and also reach casting team members. I am a little private, and my posts are generally work-related. I remain true to myself on social media.”      She doesn’t get overwhelmed by seeing others around her become more popular than her. She is her own competition, and she believes that there is something for everyone out there.   “It’s interesting to see how a few have the talent to showcase themselves and their work and become popular. That surely takes a lot of effort, I feel. Since I have always been my own competitor and selective about what I accept, I know such things take time. I am pretty cool about others doing well and hope to get what I desire and deserve.   There is a lot of work and something good for everyone,” she said.   Pravina also credited social media for getting her some interesting roles, like playing Smt. Prabhavati Bose (Netaji’s mother) in Bose: Dead/Alive, a marathi film( unreleased ) and a short film in Marathi, “Prakash”, on Alzheimer’s, which won many awards and was screened at the Stuttgart International Film Festival. She added, “So it surely works.”  She also revealed that casting teams refer to an actor’s social media a lot more these days. About her being less active on these platforms she says, ”I have fewer posts, but I get lot of love and support on my posts. I am so grateful for that, though I understand I have to share more.   Social media is a great tool for casting, but casting outside the box has given great results these days. Also, traditional acting skills and the actor's experience should not be overlooked,” she said.   “A couple of years ago, I lost a short story with a brand, as they wanted the actor to put it as a story on Instagram for a day. No points for guessing that after talking about commercials and blocking the dates, they all vanished. So that was a learning, a message in bold letters,” she added.   Mumbai-Reporter, (Hitesh Jain).

I am very happy and want to continue growing gradually: Sayli Salunke

Mumbai, 15 July 2024 (UTN). Sayli Salunkhe, who is seen as Vedika in Prateek Sharma and Parth Shah’s Pukaar: Dil Se Dil Tak, which is produced under their banner, LSD Studios, is happy with the way her career is moving and wants it to grow gradually.   “When I look back at myself from ten years ago, I feel a sense of pride. I think, ‘Oh my god, what have I accomplished?’ I feel proud of myself and grateful to my parents because, without them, I wouldn't be here today. I am very happy and want to continue growing gradually. Sudden growth can pull you down just as quickly, so I want to enjoy this journey and take my time,” she said.   “This slow process is what brings true enjoyment. I would say I have a beautiful life. God is with me, my parents are with me, and I have everyone's blessings. I feel like I am a blessed child, and many things are happening in a lovely and easy way for me. I am very happy,” she added.   Coming from a middle-class background, she never imagined seeing herself on-screen, and she is happy to see herself in a better career prospect now.   “I am very happy to see myself in a better position now because otherwise, I might have been working in a corporate job. But at some point, I felt that I wouldn't be able to do it all,” she said.   “It has been a very beautiful journey, and I have learned many wonderful things along the way. Every journey has its ups and downs, and mine is no different. In fact, this is how we grow as individuals. I never thought I would become an actor, but these things just happened, and it has been a lovely journey,” she added.   For Sayli, growth and life ambitions are important. She feels that if one doesn’t have any motive or desire for something in life, they can't grow.   “If you stay at one stage in life, you can only enjoy it for so long. Growth is necessary for everyone. You will grow when you have ambitions and a set goal in your life. Once you have a goal, you feel the need to keep moving forward. Without ambitions, I think we remain stuck, both as individuals and in our work. So, I believe having ambitions is extremely important,” she ended.   Mumbai-Reporter, (Hitesh Jain).
